Ko Hin Ngam is a small island in Tarutao National Marine Park, a short longtail ride of about 20 minutes from Ko Lipe. Its name means "island of beautiful stones", after the smooth black pebbles that cover its beach.
Visitors walk the pebble beach, take photos of the patterned stones and snorkel in the clear water nearby. A sign on the island warns that taking stones brings bad luck, and visitors are asked to leave them. The island is reached on island-hopping trips from Ko Lipe in the park's open season; boats to the outer islands stop during the monsoon months.
