ホリデーインスピレーション in Khon Kaen

You haven't been to Khon Kaen until you've climbed this temple. Located by the lake, this 9-story stupa offers the best panoramic view of the city. Each floor is filled with rare Isan relics and scriptures. It is the spiritual heart of the city and looks absolutely majestic at sunset when the gold spire catches the light.

How to get there:

Songthaew (Bus): Take Line 8 (Blue color) from the city center.

Taxi: Tell the driver "Wat Nong Waeng" or "Phra That 9 Chan".

Social media has made this spot legendary. What was once an old mining quarry has filled with water so clear and blue it looks like the Maldives. Surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs, it is incredibly photogenic. It’s a bit of a drive from the city, but it pairs perfectly with a camping trip to Pha Man Fun.

Located near Khon Kaen University (KKU), this open-air community is a breath of fresh air. It’s a village of wooden houses turned into art studios, ceramic workshops, and slow-bar coffee shops. It’s quiet, green, and perfect for a lazy afternoon. You can join a pottery workshop or just buy unique handmade souvenirs that you won't find anywhere else.

Forget the chaotic, cramped markets of Bangkok. Ton Tann is designed like a park, with palm trees, fountains, and wide walking paths. It is the cleanest and most organized night market in Isan. You can find everything from trendy fashion to incredible street food (try the Isan Hot Pot!). There is often live music in the central beer garden.

One of the best modern zoos in Thailand. The highlight is the Skywalk, a high bridge where you can look down at giraffes and zebras roaming freely below. They also have a large water park on-site, making it a full-day destination for families with kids. The animals have large, open enclosures.
