The Tavern is a British-style pub and restaurant tucked down a quiet lane a short walk from Kata Beach. It has indoor and outdoor seating, a pool table, a bar and big screens for match days.
The menu pairs Western comfort food with Thai classics. The Sunday roast is its signature, with roast beef popular and pre-ordering of dishes such as lamb shank recommended. Steaks, fish and chips with homemade chips, steak pie, pork ribs, curries and a seafood bucket are also served, with apple crumble for dessert.
The pub is cash only. It opens in the late afternoon from Tuesday to Saturday and from 11am on Sunday, and booking ahead for groups is advised.
