If you felt like the last few years were slow, get ready to run.
2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse (Bing Wu).
In Chinese and Thai astrology, the Horse represents speed, energy, and victory. But when you add the Fire element to the mix, you get a year defined by high energy, volatility, and rapid change. It is a year where things happen fast.
However, for some Zodiac signs, this intense energy might cause a bit of friction. In Thai culture, we call this "Pi Chong" (The Clashing Year).
If you are worried about your luck in 2026, here is everything you need to know about the conflicting signs and—most importantly—how to fix them.
In 2026, the ruling deity (Tai Sui) is General Lu Wu. If your birth sign clashes with the Horse, it is believed you might face obstacles, emotional turbulence, or health issues.
Here are the signs that you need to be careful in 2026:
Status: Direct Clash (Chong)
Why: The Rat sits directly opposite the Horse on the zodiac wheel. Fire and Water do not mix well.
What to watch: Expect big changes. This could be a sudden job change, a move, or emotional instability. Avoid high-risk investments this year.
Status: Self-Penalty (Ben Ming Nian)
Why: You are offending yourself! Being in your own year sounds lucky, but the energy is often "too strong," leading to restlessness and self-inflicted stress.
What to watch: Watch your health and temper. You might feel "hot-headed" or impatient.
Status: Harm Tai Sui (Hai)
Why: The Ox and Horse have a "harming" relationship in astrology.
What to watch: Be careful of misunderstandings, gossip, or "backstabbers" in the workplace.
Status: Destruction/Break Tai Sui (Po)
Why: A minor clash that disrupts relationships.
What to watch: Minor accidents or friction in your love life.
(Note: The other signs, Tiger, Dog, and Goat, are considered the "Lucky" friends of the Horse this year!)
If your sign is on the list above, don't panic. In Thailand, we don't just accept bad luck; we fix it. This process is called Kaem Gae Chong.
Here is how you can resolve the conflict and ensure a smooth 2026:
This is the most famous place in Thailand to resolve zodiac conflicts. Located in Bangkok’s Chinatown (Yaowarat), it is the spiritual headquarters for Gae Chong.
The Ritual: Buy a "Gae Chong" kit at the temple. Write your name and date of birth on the red paper. Wave the paper over your body 13 times (to sweep away bad luck) and leave it at the shrine for the monks to pray over throughout the year.
To balance the intense Fire of 2026, you need to wear colors that support or control the energy.
Lucky Colors for 2026: Emerald Green (Wood feeds Fire) and Yellow/Gold (Earth stabilizes Fire).
Avoid: Excessive Black or Blue (Water clashes with Fire), especially if you are a Horse or Rat.
A common Thai remedy for bad luck is saving a life. Go to a temple by the river and release fish.
For Health: Release turtles.
For Financial Flow: Release eels.
The Pi Yao is a mythical creature that eats gold and silver and has no anus (so wealth goes in but never comes out). It is considered the best amulet to appease the Grand Duke (Tai Sui) during a clashing year.
The Year of the Fire Horse (2026) is going to be exciting, fast-paced, and full of opportunities for those who can keep up. If you are a Rat, Horse, Ox, or Rabbit, just take a few extra precautions, visit a temple early in the year, and ride the wave of energy rather than fighting against it.
