The Tourism Authority of Thailand presented its 2026 strategy at TTM+ 2026 in Pattaya on 10 June 2026. TAT outlined a quality-led direction that prioritises wellness, meaningful travel, sustainability and headline events while targeting 33 million international arrivals and 2.65 trillion Baht in tourism revenue for 2026.
TAT used Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2026, held from 10 to 12 June 2026 at the NICE Pattaya Convention and Exhibition Center, to promote a new national tourism direction. The plan shifts emphasis from volume to value, highlighting wellbeing, cultural connection, responsible tourism and partnerships to lift spending and lengthen stays. TAT reported that as of 2 June 2026 Thailand had received more than 14 million international visitors and about 679 billion Baht in tourism receipts, and set national targets of 33 million arrivals and 2.65 trillion Baht in combined domestic and international revenue for 2026.
Under the banner "Healing is the New Luxury," TAT frames travel experiences around restoration, Thai hospitality and nature. The strategy links wellness offerings with medical and lifestyle services and positions events and gastronomy as year-round anchors for demand. TAT highlighted global gatherings and local festivals including InterPride 2026, the Global Wellness Summit in Phuket, the IMF World Bank Annual Meetings, Pride Show Bangkok 2026, Tomorrowland Thailand, Wonderfruit in Pattaya, and sport events such as the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2026, HYROX and Spartan Race Thailand. TAT also referenced partnerships that connect contemporary culture to travel, including the Amazing Thailand x LISA "Feel All the Feelings" campaign.
Travellers should expect more curated wellness programs, expanded medical-wellness options, and a stronger events calendar that makes planning around specific festivals and conferences more valuable. Wellness-focused retreats and urban medical services will appear alongside cultural and food experiences designed to deliver higher perceived value and intentional downtime. Book with event dates in mind. International conferences and major festivals will concentrate visitors on specific weeks so plan flights and accommodation early. For Pride and LGBTQ friendly travel, consult our calendars and guides to match your trip with the right festival or city celebration. For wellness breaks, research whether a program focuses on preventive care, lifestyle coaching or medical procedures so you can allocate time for consultations, treatments and recovery.
