Thaiseri Restaurant

Thaiseri is a long-running Thai restaurant on Sangchuto Road in central Kanchanaburi, close to the Chukdon intersection. It serves home-style central Thai cooking with a strong focus on river fish, and its Thai name, Thai Seri, is how locals know it.

Regular orders include fried fish with fish sauce, jungle curry with featherback fish balls, chu chee curry with pla khang, Thai chicken boiled in fish sauce and featherback fish cakes. Simple vegetable plates such as bitter gourd stir-fried with egg and sweet leaf in oyster sauce round out the table, along with wild boar stir-fried in red curry paste.

Prices sit around 250 to 500 baht per person. The kitchen runs all day from mid-morning to evening, which makes it an easy lunch or dinner stop on the main road through town.
