Raan Gaeng Som

Raan Gaeng Som is a southern Thai curry and rice shop in Klong Prao on Koh Chang, in the strip just before Kati Culinary and opposite Toscana.

Trays of ready-cooked dishes line the counter, including beef and chicken curries, clams in red curry paste, spicy fried catfish, fish liver curry and stewed pork leg. Two choices over rice cost around 50 baht, and raw vegetables with nam prik come free. Thai desserts are also on offer.

It is busy with Thai workers, drivers and locals, which keeps the food fresh and the turnover quick.
