Bang Bao is a village on stilts at the southern tip of Ko Chang, built out over the water along a long wooden pier. It began as a fishing village, and today tourism is its main business.
Visitors walk the pier past shops, guesthouses and seafood restaurants, choose fresh seafood for dinner, and watch the boats. Boats to the outer islands, such as Ko Kut and Ko Mak, leave from here, along with snorkelling trips. For swimming, Bang Bao Beach (Klong Goi) is just up the road. The village is at the end of the west coast road past Lonely Beach.
