Zimplex Mixology Laboratory

Zimplex is a cocktail bar on Phang Nga Road in Phuket Old Town that has been running for well over a decade. The interior is styled as a science laboratory, with bartenders in white lab coats using lab equipment to prepare drinks.

The owner, a former writer, creates experimental drinks and colourful shots, with some designs painted inside the glass while guests watch. Trip mixes pink gin, cream liqueur and a house lab liqueur that briefly looks like a lava lamp, and Banoffee is a sweeter option. Shots have been priced at around 250 to 400 baht.

The music leans towards hip hop and Japanese tracks. It works well as a first stop before other Old Town bars and opens Tuesday to Sunday in the evening.
