Hilltop homage to Lanna’s saint monk
About
Kruba Srivichai, the saint of Lanna, led great public works and inspired roads to mountain shrines. Locals honored him with a large hilltop statue at Doi Ti, a short hop south of Lamphun. Park below, climb a brief stair, and pay respects with incense and a wai. Views stretch over farms and low hills, with Lamphun’s chedis peeking in the distance. Continue to the nearby temple for a reclining Buddha and a small chedi set on a breezy terrace. Drivers use this stop as a break on the Highway 11 run, but it rewards a linger if you carry time in your plan.
