Starting at Bangkok’s Thonburi Station, the train ambles past sugar palms and riverside villages before crossing the Bridge over the River Kwai, clinging to the cliffside at the famed Tham Krasae trestle, and finishing near the waterfalls at Nam Tok. It is slow, social, and endlessly scenic, with open windows on non-A/C coaches that make the ride feel like a moving veranda.
