The Tourism Authority of Thailand announced on 16 July 2026 that it partnered with the production of Season 42 of The Challenge, which was filmed across Bangkok, Pattaya and Chon Buri. The season will premiere on Paramount+ on 5 August 2026.
TAT worked with the show’s production to place Thailand as the backdrop for a major international reality series. The collaboration, coordinated by TAT’s New York office, ties into a broader film-tourism push that connects on-screen exposure to real-world travel experiences. Filming locations include urban streets, coastal stretches and outdoor challenge sites across Bangkok and the eastern seaboard, giving global viewers repeated visual references to Thai places and local culture.
Expect a sharper spotlight on the places featured in the season. When international audiences see familiar streets or beaches on screen they often add those sites to their wish lists. For you that can mean more guided tours or new themed experiences that point out where scenes were shot, and higher foot traffic at popular attractions. If you plan visits to museums you may find themed exhibits or cross-promotions; check our guide to The best museums in Bangkok to pick sites that pair well with on-screen stops. Night market locals and vendors sometimes react fast to TV exposure, so look out for new food or souvenir stalls listed in Bangkok’s Best Night Markets. Film-focused publicity can also drive interest in premium cinema experiences, so if you like cinematic tie-ins read our piece on VIP Cinemas in Bangkok to decide whether to catch a rewatch in style.
If you want to use the show as a travel scouting tool, watch the August 5, 2026 premiere on Paramount+ and note any specific neighborhoods or landmarks you want to visit. In Pattaya, local transport and two-wheel options often make it easier to reach dispersed locations; our Top 5 Motorbike Rental Shops in Pattaya guide will help you choose a trusted rental.
