Pai Walking Street

Pai Walking Street is the town's nightly market, set on a short stretch of road in the centre of Wiang Tai. Stalls go up around 18:00 and trade until 22:00, seven nights a week.

Food is the main draw, and the range is wide for a small mountain town, covering Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Mexican, Chinese, Myanmar and Italian dishes, with halal stalls as well. Mini pancakes and grilled corn on the cob are two of the snacks people return for, and souvenir, clothing and craft stalls fill the gaps between the food.

The market is compact enough to walk end to end in a few minutes. Arriving at opening time means fewer crowds before the street fills up.
